WeToon, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as 'Company') complies with relevant laws and regulations and informs and guides you on the following matters regarding the collection and use of personal information
This policy will be effective from May 10, 2024.
1. Personal Information Collection
The Company collects the minimum personal information necessary for smooth order processing, service receipt, product delivery, payment, and other services provided to members. The collected items include:
- • Name, ID, password, address, contact information, mobile phone number, email, service usage records, access logs, IP information.
2. Purpose of Collection and Use of Personal Information
The Company uses the collected personal information for the following purposes:
- • Fulfilling contracts for service provision and settling fees for services provided.
- • Providing content, purchasing, and billing.
- • Sending products or invoices.
- • Authenticating financial transactions and financial services.
- • Managing members, including identity verification, individual identification, preventing unauthorized use by delinquent members, confirming membership intention, age verification, handling complaints, and delivering notifications.
- • Marketing and advertising purposes, including sending event information, advertising information, surveys, analyzing customer preferences, and providing customized advertising.
All information provided by the member will not be used for purposes other than those required and will not be used for purposes beyond the range of the collection. When there is a change in the scope of the collected information or the purpose of use, we will take necessary measures such as obtaining separate consent.
3. Retention and Use Period of Personal Information
In principle, personal information is destroyed without delay after achieving the purpose of collection and use. However, if it is necessary to retain information according to relevant laws and regulations, the Company will retain member information for a certain period specified by the relevant laws and regulations as follows:
- • Contract or subscription withdrawal records: 3 years
- • Records of contract or subscription withdrawal: 5 years (Consumer Protection Act in Electronic Commerce)
- • Records of payment and supply of goods: 5 years (Consumer Protection Act in Electronic Commerce)
- • Records of consumer complaints or dispute handling: 3 years (Consumer Protection Act in Electronic Commerce)
4. Procedures and Methods of Destroying Personal Information
In principle, the Company destroys personal information without delay after achieving the purpose of collection and use. The destruction procedure and methods are as follows:
Destruction Procedure: Information entered for membership registration, etc., is transferred to a separate DB (or separate document box in the case of paper) after the purpose is achieved, stored for a certain period according to internal policies and other relevant laws (refer to retention and use period), and then destroyed. Personal information transferred to a separate DB will not be used for purposes other than retention unless required by law.
Destruction Method: Personal information stored in electronic file format is deleted using technical methods that make the records unrecoverable.
